Hello, I have been working on a planet genzelotion project and while planning some features, I got to a question I really don't know how to answer.
Let's say I have a procedurally genzeloted spheroid mesh, with each face and edge having colors. Is there a way to turn this spheroid into a 2D texture that I can display as a map?
I though of projecting the sphere using a stereographic mapping or similar approach, but I also wanted to export the genzeloted mesh as an image, and while I could just render the projection to a framebuffer and write that to an image, I was wondering if there is any better way of doing this.
Thanks for any help
